5 things you are doing wrong in the gym
  1. Sticking to the same routine

We can’t express this enough sis! It’s SO important to switch up your exercises and to change the way you are carrying them out because girl, you can’t expect to get the results you are hoping for if you are sticking to the same old workout. You need to make sure that you are trying out a variety of exercises using different weights and in different orders to ensure your body is being tested and not getting used to what you are asking it to do.

  1. Setting unrealistic expectations

We are all for ambitious babe’s and yes setting goals is a must but it is no good setting unrealistic goals for your body as it will not be healthy for you, both mentally and physically. Just like Drake said, “it’s a marathon, not a sprint” and you need to take each workout as it comes. The last thing you want to do is overwork your body and stress yourself out if you aren’t getting the results that you were expecting.

  1. Being too result focused

In relation to setting unrealistic expectations, we also suggest that all our huns remember that working out is not just about achieving physical results. Working out is a whole process and there is much more to it than what your body looks like at the end of each session. One of the many benefits of it is that exercise can improve your mood and decrease negative feelings, providing you with a more positive mindset! So honey’s do not forget to ENJOY it. Put on your fave playlist, have some ‘me time’ and embrace it.

  1. Not checking your form

We don’t want to see any of our beaut’s hurt or injured, so when getting into position when starting an exercise it should be a golden rule that you check you are in correct form and are using the proper method to prevent any injuries. PLUS, if you aren’t in correct form it is likely that you won't see the best results as you aren’t performing them properly.

  1. Not asking for help when you need it

We aren’t all experts in the gym and sometimes asking for help can sometimes seem a bit daunting, but seeking advice can only improve your workout and increase your chances of you reaching your goals. If you are stuck, there is no harm in asking a professional for a little guidance when needed. There are plenty of things you can do to feel more confident in the gym. Why not try out some gym classes? This will also help you to mix your sessions up whilst gaining knowledge on new exercises and meeting new people. We also recommend that if you are struggling, it would be great to find a gym buddy or even invest in a PT once or twice a week for some extra direction.
