NYE Outfits For Every Occasion

NYE marks the end of the year. Some people won’t want it to end and some people will happily welcome a new year that marks a new beginning for them. Whatever it is, it’s a fresh start that means it’s time to reinvent yourself, focus on what you can achieve and how you can make 2020 ten times better that 2019. You have to go out with a bang, so finding the right outfit for the occasion takes pretty much the whole of December to decide and let’s face it - we buy the outfit before we even know what we’re doing! Once you know where you’re going and what you’re wearing, you can finally get excited! So look no further than this to figure out what wardrobe inspo you still need to complete your NYE look.

The classic outfit - jeans and a nice top. Mom jeans are bang on trend (when are they not?!) and the blue will add some colour. A blazer is always my go to when going for an evening of drinking when you know it’s going to be cold, but you don’t know what winter coat will actually go with your outfit. It will give you instant shape and accentuate your shoulders, making your waist look smaller. Heeled boots are a definite shout - it’s gonna be cold!

Staying in with your fave means one thing - dressing up without really dressing up. You need ultimate comfort while still looking amazing. My go-to look would be chilled loungewear with my hair and makeup on point. Why not try some 90s joggers with a bodysuit? The bodysuit should show off your best part, and what’s wrong with showing a bit of chest and cleavage! If this isn’t your thing, a cute loungewear co-ord could be exactly what you need. Opt for a crop top with some comfy trousers for a 50/50 split between sexy and cosy.

Mesh just screams night time - and this neon pattern will attract attention from everyone. The boots are casual but on point for that grunge, edgy look. The faux leather trousers go with absolutely anything, so if mesh isn’t your thing, go for a different style and you’ll still look 10/10. Keep a cute bum bag by your side all night to finish off the look.

Satin is the vibe for NYE 2019. Anything satin will make a lasting impression, not to mention you’ll look unreal in flash photography! Anything you wear, you absolutely HAVE to over the top accessorise as if your life depends on it. Sparkly earrings, sparkly bag, sparkly necklace, sparkly makeup, sparkly everything! You can’t afford to fade into the background, so go hard or go home!

To keep it simple, go with some neutral toned colours and jazz it up with some subtle jewellery and a cute hair clip. I’d also pair this look with some simple boots, heeled or platform. Have a sleek low bun/ponytail or some thick waves in your hair to tie in the girliness of the clips.

Dress like you’re going to Antarctica… but make it fashion. This fur coat is an absolute winter must, and the colours will definitely go with anything. I’d put a hoodie on underneath too - standing around in the cold calls for lots and lots of layers. Jeans to keep your legs nice and warm and a glittery bag to add some sparkle.

Going on holiday for NYE is a whole new experience. You’ll need something you’re comfortable in, cool in and something you can dance the night away in. This playsuit is a cute option if you’re more of an edgy girl, not a traditional holiday clothes kinda girl. Pair with some chunky black sandals and get your fave hoops in. For those not fond of playsuits, opt for a jumpsuit that’s light and breezy on your legs. Put some body highlight on your shoulders and chest and you’ll pull off the ‘i-look-sweaty-but-glowy’ look down to a T. If you want to show off your amazing legs, get on a bright coloured mini dress and your fave heels.

Whatever you end up doing on NYE, either staying in or going out, stay safe and let’s make 2020 our best year yet! ✨
