What are the highlights of your job?

Being able to create different things all the time & working with an amazing team of creatives 😊

What surprised you the most working in the fashion industry?

That it’s actually not like the Devil Wears Prada

If you could give your 18 year old self one piece of advice for their future career ambitions what would it be?

Never stop working hard – it does pay off in the end!

If you could swap roles in a different department for one week, which one would it be and why?

Geeky but the IT team – I’d love to learn how to code. Possibly Merch and Buying too, so I could see all the latest trends and have insider info 😃

What inspires you to get to work every day?

Knowing that the work being done is adding to a bigger picture that will form something amazing!

What do you enjoy most about working in fashion/at ISIF?

What I love about working in fashion because I get to design loads of things that are related to trends! I also love the team I’m in and working with great people day in and day out.

Did you know exactly what you wanted to do after uni?

I have no idea! I just knew it was something in design and was able to work my way into the design team at ISIF which was so good because I originally started in Marketing which I love just not as much as creating things!

What are the highlights of your job?

The best thing about my job is the variation. People say it all the time, but no two days are ever the same. I can be down in London schmoozing journos, pulling data for weekly reports or helping plan amazing events.

What surprised you the most working in the fashion industry?

Fast fashion is actually really, really fast. You’ve got to keep up with the pace! The other thing that surprised me is how unlike the Devil Wears Prada it is – although I’d love Queen Streep as my boss.

If you could give your 18-year-old self one piece of advice for their future career ambitions what would it be?

There’s no rush. It’s so easy to freak out all the time about what you should be doing by what age. There’s no one way of building a career so don’t compare yourself to others because success looks different to everyone. Ok so that’s technically two but I think both are super important! For those of you freaking out ‘Becoming’ by Michelle Obama is a must-read.

If you could swap roles in a different department for one week, which one would it be and why?

I’d love to work in the Development team for a week. They’re the brainboxes behind the entire running of the site and I have zero clue what it entails!

What inspires you to get to work every day?

My team! Cheesy but true!

What do you enjoy most about working in fashion/at ISIF?

I love working in fast fashion because it really is that: fast. No two days are the same and it allows me to think creatively. We are also able to do some amazing things such as our support this year of the Cervical Screening Charity: Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

Did you know exactly what you wanted to do after uni?

I had no idea and I’d happily say that I still don’t. I did French and German at Uni, so I don’t think I ever really thought about doing fashion. I kinda fell into it and love it! I think it’s important not to stress out if you have zero clue. No two career paths are the same and in the words of my Mum (a very wise lady) what will be, will be.

What are the highlights of your job?

I love coming into work and being part of a strong team of creatives, not only do I learn a lot from my own job, I get to see and understand other departments which is interesting.

What surprised you the most working in the fashion industry?

People think working in fashion is all fun and easy but it’s really challenging, fast paced and keeps you on your toes! There’s a lot more to it behind all the “glam”. I thought it would be more like Ugly Betty but it’s way friendlier, thank god!

If you could give your 18-year-old self-one piece of advice for their future career ambitions what would it be?

Always be positive and Manifest everything you want, and it will make its way to you with patience and hard work ❤

If you could swap roles in a different department for one week, which one would it be and why?

A stylist because I love dressing up every day and buying new clothes, so being surrounded by clothes all day would be DREAMY!

What inspires you to get to work every day?

My expensive lifestyle… hahaha jokes, my enthusiasm in fashion and honestly, I just love learning something new every day!

What do you enjoy most about working in fashion/at ISIF?

I love what ISAWITFIRST represents as a brand (and of course all the gorg clothes!) I think it’s super important to like the brand you work for as this will always reflect through your work.

Did you know exactly what you wanted to do after uni?

I’m currently still at university but getting to work for ISAWITFIRST as well as past internships has helped me understand what I like and don’t like as well as see where my strengths and weaknesses are. I recommend you get as much experience and interning as possible. Figuring out what you like to do is all part of the fun!

What are the highlights of your job?

Each day at I Saw It First is different which allows you to channel your inner creativity. It gives you the opportunity to learn new filming and editing techniques that you might not have thought about using before.

What surprised you the most working in the fashion industry?

Nothing really surprised me about the industry, it is what I expected however the turn around of e-commerce is very quick in terms of how many items of clothing are shot in a day etc.

If you could give your 18 year old self one piece of advice for their future career ambitions what would it be?

Make sure you take each opportunity you get given and enjoy yourself. Don’t settle if you’re not happy because life’s too short to be miserable and not have fun.

If you could swap roles in a different department for one week, which one would it be and why?

I’d swap roles with the photography department. I was initially a photographer so I’d like to see how different E-commerce studio photography is to other things I have shot in the past.

What inspires you to get to work every day?

I love the team I work with and I feel determined to work hard and progress as much as I can.

What do you enjoy most about working in fashion/at ISIF?

I haven’t been at I Saw It First for very long but I love the people that work here. Everyone is so welcoming, it feels like one big family.

Did you know exactly what you wanted to do after uni?

No, I initially worked in TV for 3 years and did some fashion photography on the side. That made me realise I was in the wrong industry so I switched and I have now been here for around 3 weeks.
